Jimmy Skoog Debut Single ‘Wild Things’

Jimmy Skoog, Wild Things

If you’ve been check out the new music releases on CreativeSessionsPresents  then you may have heard about Swedish hip hop artists JaeWon (Jimmy Skoog). Well I’ve been following his music over the past few months and when it comes to hard working and determination, he’s spot on! After months of mixing, recording and crafting his sound as well as his own remixes on smash hits including Rudimental’s Waiting All Night and Bastille’s Pompeii, the time has finally come for the release of his official debut single. Wild Things  is a dark, uptempo song with live guitars and heavy percussion that serves as the first chapter in the story of a kid wanting to break old patterns and create something new. A story of despair and sadness, but also a story of hope and love.

Drawing inspiration from his two favourite artists Jay Z  and John Mayer, Jimmy is ready to show the world what he is made of. Check out and stream the new single producer by Alex Isaak  and with vocals from singer/songwriter Peter Krafft.

Track of The Week – Zero Gravity By Of Verona

If you haven’t already, have a listen to the alternative electro pop sounds of Of Verona. Zero Gravity  is a delicate and in-depth piece with an euphoric edge, check it out and stream the single below.

EP of The Week – George Ezra – ‘Did You Hear The Rain?’

george ezra

It’s only been a short while since I saw George Ezra  live on stage and now the time has come for his debut EP release this week which includes the outstanding singles Budapest  and his newest single Did You Hear The Rain?  There’s more to this young singer/songwriter than his acoustic guitar, the deep lyrics, soulful vocals, blues, rock and indie sound elements and vocals reminiscent to Johnny Cash – 2014 is going to be a promising year for George Ezra! Check out the music video to Did You Hear The Rain?  here and download the debut EP on iTunes.

Really interesting submission I got this week and it’s one that everyone should hear! It’s a rock duo all the way from Costa Rica known as Colornoise, I was very impressed after listening to their single Button  and if you’re a fan of rock noise with some edge then look know further than these girls. The duo released their debut album Polychronic  last month and it’s a worthy listen – punchy, striking riffs and a lot of noise, you can download the album on the band’s official band page.

CSP Interview – Silver Arm

SilverArm - Band Shot

Another band who’s been making a lot of noise in the last few months are London’s quartet band Silver Arm. This week saw the announcement of their new single Steady Like A Vein  and it’s a scorcher! Check out my interview with Gareth this week and look out for the single release on the 25th November.

ThisisDA - 040913 6

SUPER ARKANE! New music from the Bristol based hip hop artist and this time we get a more relaxed and modern vibe in this track No Wave. ThisisDA  has been straight fire with his tight flows and No Wave  is no different. It’s just only a matter of time before we hear the highly anticipated debut album Super Arkane. Enjoy the flows and stream No Wave  below.

Forest Punk

Forest Punk

Over in LA is another hip hop artist who’s new album I’m eagerly anticipating for and it’s from Mutant Academy’s veteran Forest Punk. If you haven’t heard of this guy then I suggest you check out our review on his first self released record Possessed. A story of a young artist sharing his views and knowledge of the world, the beginning of an era of where he is at today in terms of lyrical ability and his love of poetry. This week the hip hop artist reveal the official tracklist of his new project Sleepers Rise  and I can’t wait for the release! Check out the tracklistings below and be sure to stay updated on the release on Facebook.

It’s Friday, it’s the 1st November and we can finally say that Christmas is just around the corner but before we all wrapped up the year with festive spirits and good times why not enjoy the next edition of THE FLUX  Weekly Update so here is what’s been going on in the world of THE FLUX  this week.

The Darlingtons

The Darlingtons

We’re starting to become big fans of The Darlingtons , the guys from Taunton have been getting stronger and stronger performing in numerous shows up and down the country and with another UK tour just announced, its only a matter of time before everyone here’s about them. This week saw the release of their new single Don’t Give Me Hope  and it is indeed powerful.  With great guitar work and stunning vocals the new single is a real treat to your ears! Check out the music video below and be sure to follow the band’s updates on Facebook.

Holloway Road

Holloway Road

This band are also on our fan list, they’ve been developing their sound the past few months and their hard work is really showing through; traditional country/folk sound with a refined modern edge plus stunning vocals and acoustics really get you hooked. Holloway Road  have been  in the studio releasing new tracks each week with their most recent being You’re Not Around  which is also accompanied by an acoustic video. It’s only a matter of time before the guys get together an EP and start touring the country so stick around and be sure to follow the guys on Facebook & Twitter for more updates.

French Producer Kulkid premieres debut single ‘U Were The One’

We got to hear this first thing on Monday and it’s an engaging track indeed. French producer Kulkid  who is known for his string of remixes that have managed to turn a variety of source material (Bon Iver, Lana Del Rey, Mumford & Sons) onto the dancefloor has released his debut single U Were The One  this week which XLR8R  describes – ‘U Were The One finds a crisp steel-drum melody rubbing shoulders with a very of-the-moment pitched vocal sample and a snappy house beat that will undoubtedly fit into a range of DJ mixes’

Add this to your dance collection and have a listen to the upbeat track below.

Track of The Week – ‘The Cave’ by Paper Lights

Paper Lights

This is a band we just discovered about after reading this great interview by Michael on Taken By Sound.  Atlanta musical collective Paper Lights  are a band to definitely check out if you like your synths, soulful vocals and uplifting hooks. Their single The Cave is very uplifting, eerie and cinematic sounds, pounding drums build up the presence, all nicely layered with Melanie Annabelle’s sweet and soulful vocals. If you haven’t listen to it yet have a listen and stream it below.

Album of The Week: Botany – ‘Lava Diviner (Truestory)’

Both Frankie and Kate from Stereo Sanctity  have been keeping us updated on a lot of great artists and their recently new artist Botany  has definitely got us excited and it’s his debut album Lava Diviner (Truestory). We like our electronica and the Texan producer who’s pretty new to the scene will certainly get people talking with his debut which came out this week. Quirky and unique beats, elevating levels, bubbly synths and hard hitting percussion, the album is fresh and bold as you dwell into the journey of Botany. Stay tuned for our review on the album this weekend but for now you can stream stand out track Qautic  and grab yourself a digital copy of the album on iTunes.

Featured Artist – Lazibyrd

Our featured artist this week is Somerset based folk duo Lazibyrd.  The duo have had a great year with the release of their debut album Under The Sky which has been critically acclaimed and played on over 40 radio stations and was BBC Somerset album of the week. That’s not all they’ve recently won competitions that saw them headlined The Jelli Roots Tent  at this year’s Brisfest and have their track produced by Paul Whitrow  (The Stranglers, Massive Attack, Imogen Heap) which will be featured on a forthcoming complilation album due for release at the end of the month – and to add on that they’ve been nominated for the The South West Music Awards. So some exciting times for Sharon Martin Tom Chapmin. Find out more about them in their featured artist post.
