It’s sure been some time since we were introduced to Aztecs last year but indeed the last couple of years have seen the indie four-piece blossom into stars here in the Bristol indie scene. Having played venues in and out of Bristol and festivals including Green Man and Dot to Dot, the band have caught the attention of music fans with their catchy tunes. With their debut EP Youth just on the horizon the guys today have released a glimpse with their debut single Catapults.
Certainly rising stars in the scene, Catapults is nothing short of amazing, shimmering guitar strings and drums along with Neil’s heartfelt vocals make for a subtle piece that’s every bit concise, melodic and irresistibly catchy.
Single launch takes place tonight via UATM at The Louisiana with support from SAONA and Nudy Bronque, a show not to be missed!

Bristol’s five piece These Colours are quickly becoming one of the city and indeed country’s most exciting bands. We recently saw them at UATM’s recent showcase with their explosive live set, the band consisting of Alexis Jochman, Benjamin Cavanagh, Andrew Rickard, Gareth Hughes and Lyndon Allen are known for ceasing the moment in live shows – combining the thrash anti-poetry of The Clash, with the beautiful soundscapes of The Cure, These Colours deliver an incredible live experience like no other.
The group have just released their debut single Leave Town a track that confidently represents all of the qualities mentioned above – Jochman leading the front lines with this commanding words, rumbling basslines, thumping drums and screech gripping guitar riffs, intertwining with Jochman’s vocal outcries which all make for an exciting bundle.
Leave Town is available as a free download over at their website. Be sure to catch These Colours at Bristol’s Old Market Festival on 6th September.
